I auditioned for a high school program that allowed me to pursue a particular field of study rather than general studies. If my grades were inadequate in any way, I would be expelled from the program. Skyline High School was the nation's first magnet high school. So the ability to study there was so much fun. You also had the opportunity to interact with teens pursuing careers in fashion, aviation, culinary arts, and horticulture, to name a few. Hence, it was a great introduction to the workforce.
Layout design, hands down. Understanding layout design is an essential skill to have. It enhances directing users through specific documents, websites, and images. Even though it may not appear to be a significant issue at first glance, it is evident when a design lacks layout capabilities.
My mother has a master's degree in psychology, and design is creative communication at its core. Understanding how various colors, shapes, words, and formats can affect the emotions and mentality of others is crucial for ensuring that the message in your designs is clearly communicated.
I am infectiously bubbly. At least, that is how others have described me. For lack of a better term, I'm a gigglebox. I find many things entertaining, and I find it unusual to emerge from a situation without a smile. Even if I fail, I perceive it as an opportunity for growth rather than failure. As a designer, it's easy to become discouraged, so I combat it by constantly reminding myself that everything is temporary and will soon improve. Yes, the client may not have loved a particular design, but I can create a better one they may appreciate. I could include it in my portfolio as a passion project. The possibilities are endless.
